Abu Dhabi launches a Dh13 billion digital strategy to fully integrate AI into government operations by 2027, creating jobs and boosting the local economy.
Abu Dhabi is set to become the world’s first “fully AI-native government” by 2027, authorities announced Tuesday with the launch of its ambitious new tech strategy.
The emirate has allocated Dh13 billion (approximately $3.5 billion USD) to achieve this goal through the Abu Dhabi Government Digital Strategy 2025-2027.
The initiative, spearheaded by the Department of Government Enablement – Abu Dhabi (DGE) in collaboration with other local government bodies, aims to fully automate government processes and adopt cloud computing.

The strategy is projected to have a significant economic impact, creating over 5,000 jobs and contributing more than Dh24 billion (approximately $6.5 billion USD) to Abu Dhabi’s GDP, according to the emirate’s government media office.
This will also bolster Emiratisation efforts.
“By incorporating AI, cloud technologies, and data-driven insights into our government’s DNA, we will transform public service delivery, optimise government operations, and drive sustainable economic growth,” stated Ahmed Hisham Al Kuttab, Chairman of the Department of Government Enablement – Abu Dhabi (DGE).
A unified digital enterprise resource planning (ERP) platform will be implemented to streamline processes and improve efficiency across local government.
As part of its “AI for All programme,” the Abu Dhabi government is investing in training and empowering its citizens in AI applications.
The strategy also includes the implementation of over 200 innovative AI solutions across various government services.
To ensure the highest levels of security, robust cybersecurity guidelines will be implemented.
This strategic move positions Abu Dhabi as a global leader in government technology and highlights its commitment to innovation and digital transformation.
