UAE officials are hopeful that Donald Trump’s presidency will strengthen US-GCC relations, create new business opportunities, and encourage space exploration projects.

UAE officials are hopeful that Donald Trump’s return as US President will improve economic ties between the UAE, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), and the US.

Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Abdullah Bin Touq Al Marri, the UAE’s Minister of Economy, shared his excitement about future opportunities.

“Fifty years ago, the UAE had nothing—no Burj Khalifa, no Emirates airline, no big companies. Today, we’ve built a modern country.

We see opportunities everywhere,” he said. He added, “Our relationship with the US is strong, and we want it to grow even more with Trump.”

Investments and Growth

Trump’s policies, especially about trade and taxes, are being closely watched by investors.

Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, CEO of Mubadala, said Trump’s strategies to boost the US economy will make it an attractive place for investments.

“Key areas like technology, energy, and artificial intelligence (AI) are where growth will happen,” Al Mubarak said. “Governments around the world are supporting these sectors, and we see a lot of potential globally.”

Working Together in Space

The UAE is also interested in working with the US on space exploration projects, like missions to Mars.

Al Marri said there are plans to visit US space centers in Florida to explore collaboration.

“Space exploration leads to technology we use in everyday life, like microwaves. It’s about science that helps people and economies,” he explained.

The UAE’s space program, including the Hope Mission, aims to inspire young people in the Arab world and create new opportunities.

“We already have 50 space companies in the UAE, and we want to grow this sector to diversify our economy,” Al Marri added.

Looking Ahead

UAE officials believe Trump’s presidency will help strengthen ties with the US and bring new opportunities for trade, investment, and technology.

By working together, the two countries can achieve big goals in areas like space, energy, and innovation.
