Housing Approvals in Dubai Citizens Granted Exceed Dh1 Billion Worth

The number of housing approvals entered Sheikh Mohammed’s announcement surpassing Dh1 billion for approximately 1300 Dubai citizens.

Plans are in motion to speed up the approval process for housing applications.

As per this month’s announcement made by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Dubai Ruler, approximately 1300 citizens were issued housing applications under the Zayed Housing Programme exceeding 1 billion dirhams.

Sheikh Mohammed, who issued the notice through the social media platform ‘X’ expected the number of fulfilled application requests to exceed 13000 by the upcoming years.

Sheikh Mohammed predicts that in the future, the stage for the issuance of housing approval will be faster.

His words were, ‘We aim to build an integrated system to connect all financial and housing authorities so that issuance of approval takes place within a day. A citizen is entitled to enhanced service, enhanced life, and a pleasant future, if God wills’. Sheikh Mohammed puts a lot of emphasis on the improvement of life for the citizens.

Increase in the Housing Subsidy

Recently, the Sheikh Zayed housing program set a new building aid amounting 1.2 million dirhams for citizens erecting homes in the approved residential compound areas.

And for those who build outside these marked areas, the maximum limit of the aid is set at 800,000 dirhams.

This is part of the wider efforts being undertaken to improve the living standards of the citizens in the UAE. Last year in June Sheikh Mohammed funded 1.68 billion dirhams for housing assistance in the UAE under the same scheme which was for the construction of 2160 new homes.

Rationalization of Procedures

The UAE has implemented the Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme to achieve simplification of procedures and cancel non-essential ones.

The current standard period of waiting for housing approval is only two months, this is one of the fastest periods on a global scale.

Sheikh Mohammed underlined the service range by saying that “over the past two years there were 13000 citizenship applications processed and approved, the average approval waiting time at this moment is 2 months.”

The housing programme is in line with the efforts of the UAE to provide its citizens with amenities that enable them to live a better life, a vision that is aimed at creating a secure future for everyone.
