A bus carrying female students crashed in Saudi Arabia’s Al Kamil governorate, injuring several. Authorities investigate brake failure as recent accidents raise safety concerns.
A bus carrying female students lost control in Saudi Arabia, causing injuries to several students, according to media reports.
The accident happened when the driver lost control while driving down a slope in the Al Kamil governorate, part of the Mecca region.
The bus crashed into an earthen barrier, reported Okaz newspaper.
Several students were hurt and were taken to hospitals by air ambulances.
Civil defense teams helped remove the bus from the crash site.

Traffic police are investigating the accident, including whether the bus brakes were working properly.
Authorities in Mecca confirmed the accident and stated that the traffic department in Al Kamil managed the incident involving the swerving bus.
They said, “The necessary medical care was provided for the injured” in a brief post on X.
In recent weeks, Saudi media have reported several serious accidents.
Earlier this month, one person died in a crash involving 11 cars in Riyadh.
The Saudi Traffic Directorate said the accident happened because one driver recklessly hit the pavement and the median.
In December, a truck hit a bus on a road between Al Qassim and Medina, killing four people and injuring two others.
Also that month, a pileup of 20 vehicles in Riyadh killed one person and injured 10.
