Sharjah’s latest parking updates, including new seven-day zones, Al Dhaid fees, and Kalba city changes. Stay informed with our guide.

Sharjah’s Parking System Gets a Modern Makeover

Parking in Sharjah has undergone significant changes since late 2024, offering new timings, zones, and subscription options.

If you’re a resident or frequent visitor, staying informed about these updates can save you time and ensure compliance. Here’s what you need to know.

How Sharjah’s Parking System Works

Sharjah’s parking system is designed for convenience. Most parking spaces are marked with blue and white curb markings and clear signage.

These provide instructions on how to pay and the applicable fees.

You can pay for parking on a daily basis or choose from prepaid subscription plans:

  • Personal Subscriptions: These cover all areas of Sharjah or two specific areas.
  • Business Subscriptions: A city-wide plan tailored for companies.
  • Subscription costs vary depending on the plan.

Pro Tip: Payments can be made via SMS or through the dedicated app for added convenience.

What’s New in Sharjah’s Parking System?

1. Seven-Day Parking Zones

In October 2024, Sharjah introduced extended timings for seven-day parking zones, effective November 1, 2024.

Key details:

  • New Timing: 8:00 AM to midnight (previously 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM).
  • Where to Find Them: Look for blue parking signs across the city.
  • Fees apply throughout the week and on public holidays.

Tip: Use SMS for quick and hassle-free payment in these zones.

2. Parking Fees in Al Dhaid

Starting January 1, 2025, motorists in Al Dhaid are required to pay parking fees.

Key details:

  • Timing: 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM, Saturday to Thursday.
  • Fridays: Free parking, except in areas where fees apply seven days a week, including public holidays.

This change ensures a more organized parking system in Al Dhaid, making it easier for visitors and locals to find available spots.

3. Parking Fees in Kalba City

Parking fees will also take effect in Kalba city starting February 1, 2025.

Key details:

  • Timing: 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM, Saturday to Thursday.
  • Fridays: Free parking, except in zones where fees are applicable throughout the week and on public holidays.

The new system is expected to enhance traffic flow and optimize parking availability in Kalba.

Sharjah’s parking updates aim to improve accessibility and convenience for both residents and visitors.

With extended timings, new fee structures, and expanded zones, these changes reflect the emirate’s commitment to creating a well-organized urban environment.

Take Action: Stay ahead by checking parking signs and using SMS or app-based payment systems.

Whether you’re in Sharjah city, Al Dhaid, or Kalba, planning ahead ensures a smooth experience.
