At the World Economic Forum in Davos, Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed emphasized Dubai’s inclusivity, cultural diversity, and innovation as key drivers of its global success.
At the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture, shared how Dubai has become a unique global hub for culture, inclusivity, and innovation.
She highlighted Dubai’s multicultural identity, where people from 180 nationalities live and thrive together while maintaining their own traditions and cultures.
“It’s a different model than anywhere else in the world, because they don’t have to integrate within the culture of the UAE to coexist with the people, but are respected for retaining their own cultural identity,” Sheikha Latifa said.
She also explained how Dubai celebrates cultural diversity by hosting global events like Diwali and Christmas, alongside UAE’s national celebrations.
“We have a lot of different cultural celebrations that we share with them in Dubai from all over the world,” she added.
Speaking at the WEF session titled “Mass Events: Massive Gains,” Sheikha Latifa emphasized Dubai’s focus on creating happiness and a better quality of life for its people.
This vision drives Dubai’s efforts to support the creative industry and its strategy to constantly reassess what people truly need, rather than simply following existing global standards.

Public-Private Collaboration
Sheikha Latifa highlighted the strong relationship between Dubai’s government and private businesses, a principle deeply valued by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
She gave the example of Expo 2020 Dubai, which showed how quickly the government can work alongside the private sector to execute large-scale projects.
